Anyone watch this the other night? I must admit that I wasnt that interested to start with and the only reason I watched it was cos my housemate had it on. Anyway, I am glad I peeked over the lappy and got into it. I really enjoyed it, even if the terminators werent exactly convincing and some of the scenes were almost identical to those from the second Terminator film. That aside, was a good start and looking forward to next episode.

Opinions?

I'm up to the sixth episode, and if you liked the first one you are gonna love it as it continues. It is one of those shows that just keeps building on the story, and gets better and better.

However it is made by Fox, so expect it to be really popular and then they cancel it (using some excuse such as "We can't see what our target audience is for this show!"). :)

The second series is going to be set in Hull. It'll be horrific, I'll bet.

Its sad that its only a matter of time before Sky buy it like they did with Lost but I enjoyed the first show, it looks as if its going to be a goody.

It didn't do anything for me, but then again not much TV does. My OH fell asleep to Jonathan Meades but managed to stay awake through the whole first episode of this, so that's some form of recommendation.

It is being aired by Fox in USA so I guess you're right, it is only a matter of time.

I thought it was good enough for a pilot episode, should pan out OK once it gets going.

PS, "Terminator - Sarah O'Connor Chronicles ", it's Sarah Connor, it aint about Sinead's little sister.

Could I ask people not to post spoilers please? I taped it last night cos I was working till 10 and haven't had chance to watch it yet.

I tried to watch it, but it wasn't very gripping, it's reminded me of Blade the series, a bit naff.

Yerrrs- my OH likes that too. I lost interest in it from around 15 minutes into the first episode.

I'm more of a BBC4 person myself.

The problem with this and the Blade series is that the films were huge blockbusters with vast budgets for special effects etc, the series doesn't have that budget so you get the odd short car chase, the odd small explosion and the odd (not very) special effect, which would be ok if the plot/acting was any good, but they're not.

I watched an episode the other night, and its the biggest pile of crap the yanks have produced for a while imo.

The male Terminator is about as menacing as Shawn from Corrie, not a patch on Robert Patrick, never mind Arnie....the Female Terminator, just as bad....and Sarah Connor is just too Feminine..

Linda Hamilton in T2 was butch looking, muscley arms, handled a weapon like a friggin Marine,Lena Headley cant pull that character off

Im not sure how long after T2 this is set,but John seems to have aged at least 5 years
Just not a good show imo

Same with Blade, now that is Sh8t!

Tuned in again last night and admittedly, it bored me to the point of wanting to go to bed. Disappointment to say the least, given that I enjoyed last week's episode.

Its a disappointment.
The terminators are wimps, the freedom fighters are PC to the point of nausea and Coronation Street has a bigger budget and more action.

I'll admit to only watching the first episode, but there were so many cheesey cliches in the first 15 minutes I barely made it through the rest. For a start, it needs a disclaimer at the beginning pointing out that the third film never happened. And also that they've replaced the arrogant disfunctional loudmouth dropout john connor from the films with some angsty teenager from the OC. Then they could maybe explain how anyone could get close enough to sarrah connor to marry her without noticing she's a complete headcase. And having some skinny teenage terminator saying "Get in if you want to live" is not a witty reference to the films - Its just crap.

That turned into a bit of a rant i think, but really... two great films and they turn it into that :/
