hi i was on reception as well till 2004 then i left only person i can rember on there when i was on was anne really nice person got on with her really well then i started in qs buit doidnt like it on site so i went to another job

just thought i would ask did anyone no kelly their she was really nice person we got on well went to darnall with her neally every dinner shes a right laugh

I worked there for 6yrs. It was a good little company to work for in the beginning. Local jobs for local people!
Unfortunately, due to a change in management, trumped up directors saw an end to the firm, in came the administrators & redundancies all round. A real shame.

Hello Giraffe and Luckydanii, can you remember me, my user name should give you a clue. Just so there's no doubt I used to work with Peter Jubb and Kelly. Saw Peter a few weeks after I was made redundant and he told me that most of the trainers had been taken on by Keir's.

Do you remember Gordon Wordsworth, he was one of the few directors I had any respect for, wish I knew what he is doing now and if I could help him at all.

I used to work at Rebuild - left just before it closed. I worked closely with Gordon and i have a lot of respect for him - the only senior member i did have respect for! as for the rest.......

This was the first place I ever worked, joined when I left school - would have been about 17. Remember, Graham, Gail, Paul, Gordon, Stacey, Debbie etc - seems like ages ago. About 1997 - which come to think of it is ages ago!!

I was receptionist at Knutton Road and when it was near the Ritz on Southey Hill. Pearl is a good friend and I still keep in touch. Gary Brothers set me on. Do you remember the white rat that Chris Kirby found in a garden and we called him Wordsworth because he was found on Wordsworth Avenue and we got a large tank to keep him in at work but when Gary came back off holiday he made us get rid of him so Ryan Fisher took him home. There were some great people at Parsons Cross site. Pearl, Brian, Doug Dearden, Graham Bell, Simmo who I see occasionally in Morrisons, Skippy (Dave), Mick Norton, Lutz (Dave Luttrell), Dave Bryan. Extaxman Are you Terry Griffiths or Graeme Hall?

The people who worked at rebuild were not cowboys, there were two firms carrying out repairs- rebuild and frank haslam milan. I worked on reception and we had hardly any complaints. Gail who was tenants liaison officer and Brian who did the job before her were great people and very conscientious and thorough. If you had any complaints she would have sorted them out for you. If you had ever been made redundant through no fault of your own you would think twice about posting a reply like that:D

Funningly enough madowl there are still complaints today.... and Rebuild aren't even doing the jobs any more..... mmmmm - and I know because I've recently moved out of a council flat and my friend has just gone through the refurb!

So yeah - nice comment for all those hardworking decent people who lost their jobs! - well done! :roll:

most of the work they did has been re-done
bathroom replaced
kitchen cubords replaced
floors replaced
electrics replaced
plumming re-plummed....
etc....

I was with rebuild for 3 years and they had to answer to Sheffield City council clerks of works and any complaints would have been dealt with by their Chief clerk of works and we would have incurred penalties. Did you report all these faults at the time before your house was passed by Sheffield City Council?:huh: Found out since from reliable source that it was Connaught that did the first phase, so if I got a bit shirty Madowl, I apologise. I loved working at rebuild and made some good friends

Don't get drawn in denlin!! Even if this happend, the best contractors have the odd house that goes wrong - it only takes one workmen or a subbie to drop a clanger and it happens.

Rebuild weren't the best but by no means the worst out there.

Yeah - nothing has come close to working at Rebuld - most people were friendly and I did actually like my job!

I only worked at the Woodbourn Road office and now and then covered at Southey for Linda - good days, good times!

I had left by the time they went to Woodbourn. I saw Graham Watson the other day - I don't know if you remember him, he was the guy that set me on.

I must say i think it was the best job i ever had or ever likely to have i liked the people and the job such a shame did not enjoy the3 end bit when we was subcontracted to other company`s though .

Clues in the profile name :hihi: I was at Rebuild from 2000 till it went pop.....still in touch with lots of people from there and I agree that it was THE best place i have ever worked, Its just a shame that people didnt realise how good they had it whilst it was functioning!!!!! It still puzzles me to this day how a company that is doing good in the community and operating as a social enterprise could ever meet its demise........RIP good ol' Rebuild (Aplace where legends were born lol) Oh.......and HI to everyone......you should know me as i worked on most of the sites/MDC/Knutton & Woodbourn :)

Not three bad thanks. left re-build and got mi owd job back more less straight away. concrete spraying, working all oer place. away mainly. our nobby got own business painting and decorating and still twanging his bass guitar. our dale, well wot can we say, ant worked since rebuild. dont think he wants to either mate. so wot u up to mi owd mucka.
