called at a 2 for 1 meal pub today out retford way, what a rip off example :mixed grill £16.95, no wonder they can afford to give one away.
both meals looked bland and tasted no better, in future ill stick to the private small landlord that offers traditional food that i will enjoy.;)

the last time i named and shamed anyone on the forum the thread was removed and i was threatened with legal action, even though i was telling the truth.all i will say is that if pubs are going to offer 2 for 1 then they should not over inflate prices to compensate and yes maybe some of these pubs may serve good meals this one did not!vfm called at jumbo in york tonight, plenty of choice and it cost for 2 people£20 and thats with a drink.:)

Fair play. If you get ripped off I say name and shame. End of the day if it's true the legal action will never happen. Also, naming and shaming keeps em on their toes! :)

I know a good pub,.. an awesome pub to eat at!
Try going down to the Norton ( it's on meadowhead near the school ). I used to go to college there ( Norton college ) and go over there for a pint or something at lunch... then i took my lady there for a meal to see what the food was like... amazing. Always cooked perfectly, £1.75 a pint, cheap food... most of which come in 3 sizes ( which i will tell you in advance are all rather larger than you'd guess,.. don't go for the hungry menu, unless your sure you actually want to be twice your size when you leave.
I took my misses there for v day aswel, ( yes i know... not very romantic but we went to Amsterdam last year and we're both skint at the mo,.. new car ). Even on valentines day, the food was fast and good. It's a great pub with a nice atmosphere.
It's not two for one,.. but a mixed grill I think cost me about £6... so it might aswel be, when they opened they had a 2 for one offer on, surely they were losing money on that just to get people through the door to see the place. It's under new management by the way, i know it used to be a bit.. not good, but you should try it now.
