Well, to quote the Arctic Monkeys from a couple of years ago, "Call the Police - Richard Hawley's been robbed'....again. :(

Tonight he was beaten for the 'Best british Male Artist' by Mark Ronson - who's a Producer, for God's sake.

It's not a secret now! :P

What I'd like to know is how a man who doesn't sing on his own records, can possibly be called 'Best British Male Artist' :suspect: :loopy: It's a right load of old cobblers, isn't it?

You was robbed, Richard!

Yup...here they are again! :) They're just a wee bit tiddly poos now. :)

The presenters - Vic Reeves and Sharon Osborne - are almost as unprofessional as the legendary Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox.... :hihi:

Did you see Nick having to hold him up? :hihi:

Yee Gods...Ozzie Osbourne has just spoken more sense than his wife and Vic Reeves did. That's astonishing. :)

Mind you, Paul Macartney may need a few awards to flog off if his divorce hearing gets a judge sympathetic to his ex-wife...

Bless Paul. He's playing his own stuff and everyone's just going come on, we've got the Wings stuff to get through before we get to the decent stuff. It must be the biggest albatross ever as a composer/write/lyricist to have written some of the greatest records in the world.

P.S. I like Live and let die.

You'd think that the presenters could at least hold it together for an hour or two, even if the artistes get a little wasted....

It's scary to see a sober Ozzie Osbourne and a whatever else Paul Macartney is demonstrating professionalism....

Does anyone else think the Brits this year were southern biased? The Monkeys won 2 awards and weren't interviewed backstage and shown off by Kelly, before they could say almost anything at all. Vic Reeves was heckled by Sharon and called a "**** head". But where did Ozzy disappear to for most of the show?

The presenters were awful as usual.. Vic Reeves was a mess... Sharon and Kelly were pretty much the same as Sam Fox and that tall guy who's name I forget....

Hurray for the Arctics making fun of it all and arriving with plastic duck and hunting horn :hihi: Shame they cut the last speech off, Alex was just getting warmed up :D

Its spectacularly poor tho as far as award ceremonies go... I see Dave Grohl rates it highly... admiring past Brit winners such as Bros :hihi:

I am writing this 'somewhat under the influence' and my main abiding memoryof the Brits is this:

Amy Winehouse is frighteningly talented and only she can screw her life up. Pitchwise, her almost carefree delivery of singing might be unsurpassed by any, I repeat ANY British, female artiste. And you just knew she wasn't even trying tonight.

She is Tina and Dusty in one and more and she has age/youth on her side. Amazing.

And yet one feels she will throw it all away for a 'hit'.
Incredible yet I wouldn't take her to bed; the gal, for all her (immense) talent puts the jeepers in me.

PS. Well done Macca.

Goodnight forummers...,

I actually warmed slightly to Dave Grohl for the first time ever, he was SO taking the pi55 out of the whole thing! :hihi:

Thank God for the Arctics - the whole show would have been a total and utter disaster without their contribution

Got the impression Mr Grohl had just won a bar or candy at his son's school fete.

Muppet. That piece of plastic and fake iron cost the industry some pennies.

Man, I felt SO bad for Vic Reeves. According to him, the Auto-cue broke on him so he didn't know what he was doing which is why he didn't know why he was there. That was SO unproffesional of Sharon to do that to him and steal his award like that. Why didn't she just give him the card so he could read it? ¬_¬

Where is your evidence of this? (I'm nosy!) Quite surprised - although they like a laugh they are actually all quite well behaved in that respect. I thought it was as they started taking the michael out of the Brit school?

They were a bit lairy, and it's not the way I would have liked to appear on national TV in front of my mum, but they did a good job of getting the award and I'm certainly pleased for them.

As for poor old Vic Reeves - oh dear - even if his teleprompter had failed then there was no reason to be quite so badly behaved - after all, he was there as a presenter, not as a potential recipient.

Does anyone know whether recipients know that they're getting an award before the night itself?

I watched the Grammys last week.....they went without a hitch....full of well behaved Americans perfectly following auto-cues and award winners graciously accepting their Grammys with perfect speeches......then fast forward to the Brits....drunken speeches, messed up auto-cues and the presenter shouting "P*sshead" at the guests!

In theory we should be mortified but I actually think its hilarious....the Brits were far more entertaining and I suppose they do paint a realistic picture of our country???! Oh dear! lol...

I wonder what the Americans would think if they had watched it ? xx

Only just managed to see The Brits repeated tonite (was out pub quizzin Wed) but was gutted when I realised they wasn't gonna show Maccas impromptu performance afterwards! Apparently he did an extra hour of mainly Beatles stuff that was shown on ITV2 on Wed night? Anyone see it? Was chuffed to bits for Arctic Monkeys, local lads done good.
