how come when ever i cross here i am invisible be it dasy or night im never seen until about 10 cars have gone passed most speeding to get across before i think about crossing.

Which crossing? the one near the roundabout? Or further towards town? I have a theory about the one near the roundabout if thats the one.

its the one just after the roundabout fair enough i understand that not all people know its there and by the time they see it it's too late but most know it there.

Yes I know, I have been very close to being rear ended when I have stopped for someone to cross, and in many cases I have stopped an cars have gone flying by in the other lane while a pedestrian starts making their way across! I think its a combo of people being hidden by the white railings, and the speed some people feel they need in order to get across the roundabout.

I never use zebra crossings. I just don't trust drivers to stop and figure they are more likely to use the stripes on the crossing as a means of targeting the pedestrian more effectively.

There have been quite a few people knocked over there over the years, its in a bad position.

NOt all drivers see Zebra crossings as target practice :rant::rant:

Try crossing with a large carrier bag full of cheapo Netto canned baked beans. Take one step onto the crossing and if a car fails to stop for you then accidently drop the carrier onto the bonnet of the offending vehicle. They'll stop next time.

i just dont understand why it takes me shaking my head and lokking disaprovingley at the cars for someone to stop. id just hate for some child to get run over. hen again why would any responsible parent let their child cross there.
