just under the arch across from the victoria hotel is a phone box,the dirty smack rats now use it as their delivery place,ive just been for a coffee at stumpy's and saw all the low life hanging round the phone box,on my way back i saw a brown audio dropping off their filth,a woman i was talking too said they'd asked her for money in a not so polite manner.

Thanks for the warning! I work on the Victoria Quays and I would have to walk past there to get into town. I think I might walk around the other way in future!

I've just spoken to a few colleagues and no-one else has seen anything. Most people who work where I work would walk past there to get to and from town (although we can walk the other way round the Quays). Is it just a one-off incident or have you seen them more than once?

usually see them on the bridge near the bottom of duke street as there is a phone box there,they have to keep moving and it looks the phone box on the quays is the next stop,todays the first time ive seen em there so hopefully they'll move on..or better still over dose.

I assume that you have called the police and the Quays management company to let them know?

The point that was being made perhaps was about not just general safety of people but catching the scum also.

Seems like you know more about these phone boxes than the rest of us `Superman` so if you hate them so, give the suspects some cryptonite please!!!!

Im with Tony on this one because I am a self confessed curtain twitcher and just plain nosey through and through anyway.

I dont think the police will do anything about it though to be honest, hopefully they will sort the smack-rats out and will monitor the area.. hopefully.

I appreciate the need in society for curtain twitchers, but ringing the police just because you've seen some smack-heads hanging around a phone box is taking things too far surely? As if the police aren't busy enough without a load of do-gooders ringing up with a smack-head sighting every 5 minutes.

I can see your point mate- I think the police are busy enough as it is.

The information that smackheads are tending to hang around in a particular place is useful to the general public (including six foot blokes who do get bothered by smackheads, something I know from personal experience) because some people may wish to avoid the area. However, if smackheads are meeting drug dealers in particular cars in a particular place that information is also potentially very useful to the police. I say potentially because the police may already have all or some of that information (I would hope that they do but they may not) or may not act on the information (I would hope that they do but I fear that they may not or may not do so in time) but giving police that information could eventually lead to the conviction of many prolific and/or serious criminals.

However, the potential value of that information to the police could be negated if that information is also received by any of the criminals involved, regardless of how well-meaning the person broadcasting the information publicly is. I accept it's a difficult situation but if criminals are to be caught, convicted and punished the police need information. Do you want problems to be genuinely solved or do you just want things changed a bit so that your problem becomes someone else's problem?

If i had seen it and been bothered enough to warn people on the forum about it then I would have reported it to the police first. I still don't get this "It's wrong to grass on criminals to the police" thing. :loopy:

This topic is about particularly harmful and scruffy drugs being sold in well used public places.
