Just found out what my work bonus will be... enough to buy me a shiny new macro lens :)

Given that my main macro subjects will be critters (some bitey critters too) I've pretty much settled on either the Sigma 180mm or the Tamron 180mm macros for the extra working distance.

Anyone able to offer any advice on which is preferable/better and why?

Of course once I have one, be ready to be bored stupid with thousands of macro pics :thumbsup:

Having done lots of reading, decided on the Tamron... it has been ordered and should be with me by Friday - just in time for my week off next week :)

Hope you all like macro... cos that's gonna probably be all I'm doing for next week or so!
