Welcome to the forum :)

You might want to search (click the link in the left menu) and type in ghosts... there are a lot of topics about this already and we even have a few resident experts :)

Well........... All black, no features - no clothes etc.
It was angry, waving its arms, it also had a knee lift whilst seeming to glide. It did not move like your 'normal' ghost.

'A ghost usually moves' was meant to imply: when video footage as been shown of them, they tend to glide. They tend not to move their joints (they do not have any). Sorry about being unclear.

Hi,
I used to live in the Claywood yellow, then green, blocks.
Personally, I think the place was more than a little spooky. Just
a few little things.
We had a mirror in the front room that reflected the hallway, and more than a few visitors thought they saw a male figure entering the flat, and walking down the hall.
I am also very interested in the cholera ground area, and any spooky happenings.
P.s have you heard about the attercliffe ghost, Spring Heel Jack?
Hmm, i can't put in a link, as i haven't made enough posts yet, but here's a quote:

"There were also a few reports of an entity like Spring-Heeled Jack in America in the 1950's And from the 1970's onwards, he has been seen in Britain again -

"In Sheffield, residents of Attercliffe began to complain about a red eyed "prowler" who grabbed women and punched men. Other witnesses saw him bounding between rooftops, and walking down the sides of walls. As in the old days, a group of armed men (police this time) chased and nearly trapped him, but he vanished into thin air and disappeared from the area."

Cheers,
Bex

:help:
I am trying to find out about any hauntings, witch hunts etc. in the Renishaw area - particularly Low Common. I have been asked to do a house cleansing there to bannish an apparition - I have stayed in the house myself and although I saw nothing I clearly heard and felt it. It went through my things in my bag and its footsteps went across the room and down the stairs.
can anyone throw any light on any incident in that area - fires, fighting (long ago)?
Thanks.
Peace and Love
Faerie

Where abouts is the Cholera Ground? What is it?

The site is now called Cholera Monument Grounds and is on Norfolk Road above the train station. The site has been redeveloped recently thanks to lottery money. 339 victims of the cholera outbreak of 1832 are buried there in a mass grave. The site was chosen as it was away from housing at that time; it was assumed people could catch the disease from exposure to the victims.
The monument itself had partially blown down in 1990 and was rebuilt using as much of the original stone as possible. The monument will be floodlit later this year - so you'll have no excuse for not knowing where it is. (Particularly now the adjacent tower blocks have been knocked down.)
Spring Heeled Jack has been sighted in the local area on numerous occasions. He is even depicted on one of the panels on the gates to the site, along with other aspects of the site's history.
I work on the site frequently, but only during daylight hours - when any strange sights and smells are generally down to the students at the college next door. There isn't a website about the site yet, but we would like to create one for the Norfolk Heritage Trail. The trail will run from Manor Lodge to the Cathedral through Norfolk Heritage Park, Cholera Monument Grounds and City Road Cemetery. There will be a leaflet out later this year, if anyone is interested in the route and the local history of the area. There is a great semi-fictional book about the route in the meantime by Peter Machan, called something like Sheffield's Time Trail - true histories from the Norfolk Heritage Trail.
