Refusing to get excited, despite a cracking trailer. It has more potential to spoil a great franchise by tacking on an unnecessary sequel. Plus Lucas dabbled with the story himself after he turned down a script by Frank "Shawshank Redemption" Darabont (which Spielberg, Ford etc were all praising). Of course the trailer looks great....that's the point of trailers. The trailer for AvP: Requiem looked great...the film was pants.

I just worry that it will be Phantom Men-ass all over again...great hype, great build up, terrible film. Hopefully Spelberg's direction will cover over the Lucas cracks.... I can only hope...but until the film comes out, I'm remaining pessimistic. At least that way it can only improve on my expectations.

But didn't the whole Indiana Jones series start out with Lucas and Speilberg working together on the scripts?? I think Lucas did what he did to Star Wars because it was his!! Indiana Jones is a joint thiing so I think he will have less imput. I dont think they scrapped the original script did they? I think he just added bits!! Possibly to keep him happy and to help pay for the thing!! Also I read that Harrison Ford was reluctant to do it etc, so if he carried on filming it can't be that bad?? I am so looking forward to seeing this. Must get Classic Rock watching the other 3 films!!

The Darabont script was totally abnandoned and Lucas drew out the story how he wanted it to be, before (thankfully) passing it to a real writer to pad out the dialogue. Ford was up for doing the film from the first time it was mentioned - only Connery was unsure about it, then he retired and wasn't planning to come out of retirement for the film.

Like I said, I hope that Spielberg manages to deliver a decent film, covering the ineptitudes of Lucas, but i have my doubts and just feel that the film has more potential to disappoint than please.

I guess I'm just becoming cynical about films in my old age :)

I think that the Indiana Jones stuff was done so well last time that whatever they do this time will be a disappointment. The time has passed and this smacks of a dollar raking exercise, just like the Rocky and Rambo films did.

yes AVP 2 looked pretty good, but i'm usually pretty wise to trailers and apart from being taken in by AVP 2 ...i think this one will live upto the expections...i mean the people involved are the same...it hasent been cheapend by some 2nd rate actor/producer getting involved...

well excited.

Would be good to see. Harrison Ford the OAP trying to find the lost camode in the care centre... avoiding the poisonous whethers originals being chucked at him, dodging the big woollen ball rolling down the corridor from Dorris's knitting and having to negotiate the maze of zimmer frames. Should be a laugh!!

I heard it was supposed to be Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, but was put back to due various things.

Then McGyver did a TV movie based very closely on it, which is the most unintentionally hilarious movie ever made!

Completely agree with the above statement, love the trilogy and am waiting anxiously for the release of the new film! Hope it's not a let-down due to Indy being a pensioner now, but hey! if Rambo and Rocky can make a comeback then why not!?

Bring on the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!

Have they very seriously airbrushed Harrison Ford for this? He looks no older in the trailer, yet when he's out with Calista Flokimcbeal he looks like her elderly grandad.

Giddy about this film and not been giddy about a film's release in ages! I loved River Phoenix'es bit in the last one and always feel a pang when i see that... is Sean Connery making any appearances in this one?
