hiya
ive seen other threads on this but to be honest can't make head nor tail of it!
Ive got a new laptop with wireless ability (apparently)
it runs windows xp pro
and ive got blueyonder broadband and a webstar modem at the moment connected via usb

ok so can I buy any wireless modem and do I need any other gadgets and stuff to make it wireless

any advice gratefully received!

If your webstar has an additional ethernet interface you can buy a wireless access point to bridge the gap between your modem and your laptop.

You need a wireless router - I use this one with my Blueyonder broadband:

And it's been great, not too difficult to set up either but networking is always a bit of a dark art. The router connects to the cable modem via an Ethernet connection (not USB), your desktop PC connects to the router via another ethernet connection, and the laptop connects wirelessly - the range is usually up to 100ft (depending on what's between the router and the laptop)
