Hello!

IN A NUTSHELL:

I'm starting a new project, a multimedia experiment that will be part live show, part internet extravaganza....hopefully
Filmic backdrops will provide both atmosphere and initial inspiration for the music written
Excellent practise room is secured. PA and backline are in place.
Melodic percussion features heavily. Glockenspiel and Marimba are ready to go...other unusual instruments will follow
Influences include everything from Philip Glass to Oceansize, Sigur Ros to Scott Walker, Mogwai to the Wu Tang (kind of)

I'M LOOKING FOR:

musicians of all descriptions, ideally to get involved permanently and not just as a side project. Vocalists, guitarists, rhythm section, percussionists, strings, pianists etc etc

I'm aware this is all pretty vague but I think that's the best way to leave it for now....

If it sounds interesting, email me please - ed AT sortoffilms.co.uk

THANK YOUUUU

I should point out in case it's not clear - this is not paid/contracted work, it's a new band I'm forming basically.

Hello

What about voices? My a'cappella group, The Fates, is interested in doing more unusual things than just singing. But we're probably a bit over-committed to be able to offer much time. Just wondered if you might like us to come and have a go a making strange noises with our voices sometime?

Webpage is www.thefates.org We also have http://www.myspace.com/thefatesuk with some tracks on, but they're just very trad tracks. Get in touch if you're interested.

Best wishes
Bay Whitaker

hey man i have been playing drums for 10 years, i'm really into Oceansize / Mars Volta / Jetro Tull ... plus fusion/fania/afro cuban and any (within limits) world music. I'd love to get involved with what you're doing if you still require a percussion section...

I have my own transport etc and am experienced in studio and live situations...

Let me know if you're interested!!

Cheers Tim

Is this thread still open? Haven't been on for a bit. Plenty of experience, lots of ideas, music and multimedia are a fine combination... (work as a web designer).
