Are there any allotments in/near handsworth please?
I wrote to someone about this ages ago and never got a reply.
I seem to remember someone saying they were being closed??

The council ones seem to have been left to ruin in the Handsworth area. we went to look at them, could barely see the outline of what used to be plots. However, there are private ones at Infield Lane.

I've got a plot here. The people here have been really helpful, especially the commitee people (when we got the plot, some of them went and trimmed it for us, without our having to ask, a sort of welcome present if you like, it saved us loads of work).

I've got an allotment near to Handsworth church. Its down the road to the left of the bowling alley, on the left on the first bend. The huts open Sat and Sun 10 to 12 if you want to speak to someone.

We've no running water, but you basically do as you wish - keep animals (theres already goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, ducks and geese).

You can have fires as well if you want.

The hut sells seed potatoes, onions, and shallots and every year you can order seeds with 50% off.

I don't always get to the allotment when the shed is open, but they're really friendly if you want to go and ask tomorrow
