Husband does not know who these are but was at the senior school about this time, do you have any more photos of this school? We have being trying for nearly a year to find a school football photo with husband on mainly known as Danny real name David, not sure of the year trawled though old green un, Star and a few Telegraphs, were sent a photo from 1948/9 but still trying. This lad was Raymond Kirkland' who lived in Cary Road around that time.

Although he had an elder brother called Clifford, and there appears to be a family resemblence. I don't think it is his brother.

going on what it says on the shortcuts one says uncle ray and the other says dad so i would say they are brothers and the thread is is son or daughter

Although I can't really remember either of the Kirkland lads when they were as young as that, I don't think either of the photos are of Clifford. Could they both be of Raymond?

I remember a lad called Raymond Kirkland who went to Wadsley C of E in the mid to late '40s, could it be the same lad, it isn't a common name is it??
