Recently, my remote central locking stopped working.

Central locking works when using the key, it's the keyfob zapper that isn't.

This happened once before and but was fixed for free by the dealer as part of a service. I'm sure they said it was a fuse somewhere.

The main fuseboard has a fuse for the door locking mechanism, but apparently not for the remote side of things.

Does anyone know where to start looking?
Thanks in advance.

And um, yes I've checked the keyfob batteries :)

Try this if you havent already put your key in the ignition. Fire the engine up, soon has youve done that press the lock button on your fob. It usually works on mine.

If the button gets pressed too many times whilst away from the car it will 'detatch' itself, for security reasons (so thieves can't wander round carparks zapping away)

See above for cure.

You lot are only bloody brilliant.

That worked like a champ!

I've tried before to re-attach the keyfob, but the instructions I'd found never mentioned that the ignition needed to be turned on.

My life just got that little bit easier!!

Thanks again
