Whichever two digits are chosen the answer will always be nine times the first digit.
As regards the crystal ball, it was correct twice in fifteen tries when I tried it.

3 out of 3 for me.

I don't want to spoil things but...

When you load the page look what symbol is used for 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72 and 81. They're all the same. That's your symbol and it always will be.

This is always 100% correct. If the crystal ball is wrong, you can't add up. It's a simple as that! :P

(It shuffles the symbols each time you load the page so it's harder to work out how it's done.)

I'll verify that - there's a psychology behind the 'example' at the bottom which makes you more likely to think along those lines, too...

Tried it again and it is NOT by any means 100% correct.

The only 100% 'correct' aspect, as I stated before, is that the result is ALWAYS nine times the first digit.

Ps. Having taught mathematics, from kindergarden to university levels, for most of my adult life - I believe that I CAN add up.

Here's the proof:

99 9+9 = 18 81

Your number is always a multiple of 9 (upto 81). All the symbols for numbers that are multiples of 9 (upto 81) are the same.

How can it ever be wrong?

The 'Result' is what comes up in the crystal ball - NOT the table.

All I can say is just keep trying.

All I can say is just keep trying. Yes... and the crystal ball always shows the same symbol that was used for numbers 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72 and 81! (Doesn't it? :? )

Not for me, as I've already stated (twice)

Agent Dan

It did give the same symbols for those numbers when I was on the site earlier even if you refresh (it rotates the picture but keeps them uniform) ... Maybe it changes the series round in the same pattern?

Yep same here 8)

Tony Ruscoe

That's weird then! Out of over 200 times, it always returned the same symbol that was used for 9, 18, etc... (even if it did keep changing the symbols around!)

If what your saying is true, the person who wrote that flash movie must be a complete idiot. Why write a "prediction program" that fails to be 100% correct when it's so easily done? There are loads of websites out there asking / explaining why it's always 100% correct... :?

Carlwarker

'Who can explain it, who can tell you why...'

All I can say is THAT is my experience on that website.

ps. I hope that you are not inferring that I am a liar.

Tony right, I get 10 out of 10.

I eat humble pie - with gratititude.

No John - not a liar - but an idiot.

I was randonly choosing 'results' from the table - when, of course, as I stated twice before, the only possible answers are products of nine from 9 - 81.

In other words, I DID NOT follow the instructions.

Once again - I apologize:lol:

Seriously though, since I'm yet to see it predict the wrong symbol, you can understand how I'm dubious about what you're seeing... but I'll believe what you say for the time being.

Carlwarker could put an end to this debate by taking a screen capture of it failing to be correct, and then posting the evidence here or emailing it to Tony.

[Later]

Forget the above Carlwarker has spotted his mistake.

Just returned from a visit to the docs - I'm not senile apparently - yet - so I can't give that as an excuse. Seriosly however:

Always apologise when one is in the wrong - it clears the air.

As for 'the error of my ways' in not keeping to the 'instructions' - WILL DO!

As for '...being ashamed' - I'm not, but I am rather infuriated with myself - but as I say: 'an apology tends to clear the air'.

As for quitting the Forum - in you dreams - as the saying goes.

I will try to look up some conundrums for contributors' perusal though.

And I 'retired' 15 years ago this coming Thursday - the day that Ben Johnson was robbed of his title - so I'm a little 'rusty':

I've enjoyed the Forum immensely, since joining a few weeks ago, and hope to meet some of our members at the Classic Rock Bar on the 2nd October.
