toby foster is a top stand up. Saw him at our union a couple of years ago. Was on the bill with spencer from pheonix nights (danny something). He had just been voted comedian of the year! Did a three hour set and was absolutely brilliant!!!

So what sort of style does he come across as? Is it gags or stories or satire? Is he like say, Bob Monkhouse, Manning, Alexie Sayle or or Eddie Isard?

Hes story based. Talked alot about when he lived in moss side in manchester but throws the odd gag in there. Not brilliant but definitely woth a look!

Yeah! 5_Hats. I noticed that too. So! is he tops or mediocre. He is good on the radio but me thinks he restrains himself cos of the time of day his programme is on.

I think Toby is quality. Excellent as a compare and as stand up. Extremely quick witted when interacting with the crowd. Been to the last laugh a few times at the Lescar and it's been top notch every time. The fact that tickets sell out well in advance speaks for itself. I believe there's another last laugh night on at Sheff uni. Toby posted about it quite recently. Just do a user name search under Toby and you should find it quite easily.

Toby is brilliant at the Lescar - he always seems to up his game if the acts that week are a bit rubbish too (and he normally tells you they're crap).

word of warning ,dont sit near the front ,he likes to "talk" about the audiance

is it on tonight? Does it get packed or can you buy tickets at the door?

What kind words.

It's on each Thursday night mate, but it sells out every week. The booking line opens at 10 am on Fridays, and it normally fills up on the day. I know, I know, we should get somewhere bigger........

Trouble is, I like the Lescar too much.

I've been to the Last Laugh at the Lescar quite a few times. It's usually really good and there's at least one really decent act. Toby is excellent and really gets the crowd going. The atmosphere is great: the only place I've got to compare it with is The Stand in Edinburgh which I went to once- it wasn't a patch on the Lescar. Only thing is, you need to phone to reserve tickets a few days in advance- you can't normally get tickets on the door because it's usually packed.

www.grinreaper.co.uk all details are there.

I know it looks a bit poor at the moment but am currently negotiating to get a proper web designer chappy to redesign it for me.

You just need to take the comma out at the end of the link (it's not working at the mo).
