And they give loads of free tickets to swillsborough which still dunt get you lot of ye back sides and down to the dump to see you lot, so whats your point ?

30,000 to see the Blades
19,000 vs Ipswich
17,000 vs Charlton

Do you see a pattern emerging here elmo or where they just there to see the Blades

i have just finished watching a match which they away team had no intention of losing and had all eleven players behind the ball when the home team where attacking and when home team did break through, away team got the refs indecision not to send player off when he was the last defender.i dont think blackwells passion is good to watch and prefer a more statusque manager.
do you think boro will let you watch replay for nothing instead of Buy One ticket Get One Free.:hihi::hihi::hihi:

Thanks 91 that just cleared it up a bit for me...
Elmo will be saying that the man who pulled down the Blades player deserved to stay on the park and United didn't have 2 stone wall penalties turned down by a completely inept referee :o
Finally saw some passion and fighting spirit in the performance today that was lacking this season

i didnt watch the game as i had better things to do but i saw the handball and to be fair if that was given against your own team you would feel it was harsh, surely its the same as a player blasting at you and not being able to get out of the way. as for the sending off, the ref needs glasses if he is only going to give a yellow for that, he surely was the last man

Robbie Loving

In my opinion, he shouldn't have had his arms there. But hey, it happens, and it happened so quick.

as for the sending off, the ref needs glasses if he is only going to give a yellow for that, he surely was the last man

Even if he wasn't last man, it was denying a goal scoring opportunity, which in itself is a red card offence.

NERVY-OWL
17-02-2008, 21:07
yes, could be a goalscoring opportunity aswell. i can see what you mean saying his hands shouldnt be there but it would still be harsh to give it. if it had been other way round then blades would of said it shouldnt of been, some refs moght of given it, unlucky for you he wasnt one of them

Robbie Loving
17-02-2008, 21:08
I can understand the pen decision, as I said it happened so quick it would have been hard for the ref to see, especially when boateng had his back to him.

What a silly retort :loopy::loopy: most of Britain who enjoy watching football would have watched the match. If you'd never watch Wednesday on the BBC on a Sunday ( even if you're willing them to lose ) then thats extremely sad, the only person who needs to get a girlfriend is you mate.

I must point the reason the owls didn't have a game on Saturday.

Because Sheffields number one team had other priorities ;)

I'm neither a Wednesday nor a United support and as a nuteral I found it an enjoyable game with plenty of action.

As for Wheater, he should have been sent off. But the penalty claim against Boro was never a penalty - it was ball to hand, unintentional and no advantage was gained.

His hand should not have been there, simple. But I can understand why it wasn't given, with his back to the ref and happening so quick.

I personally favour the long ball on our pitch at the moment, there are no bobbles in the air.

The pitch looks blooming awful like we've laid Wendy's flooded turf, we can't play football on that, the players look scared to death of being made to look idiots

And how many pigs got out of there trofts to go watch porkys v Villa a couple of years ago in F.A Cup,about 13,000 wasnt it
Oh...............and it was on BBC 1
Get real u knob, weve had nearly more than that for David Hirsts comeback in a reserve match

If you want to compare crowds.......

How about yours against Charlton in the same round of the same cup, where you drew only slightly more than we did against villa, yet yours wasn't on the BBC?

Tut tut, Talk about owls living in the past still.

See uve just proved my point there porky pie
Wednesday fans will still turn out to watch a crappy team like Charlton where as blades get a plum tie v Villa and still prefer to watch it on telly
I can still remember commentators reflecting on the lack of passion from piggy fans due to the lack of numbers in the crowd
How the hell are players gonna be uplifted and spurred on by "fans" sat in a pub???

Do you mean the 16,000 missing wendy fans that went the play off final but were missing for the derby game.
Why dont you ask Dougie Naylor i am sure he has some view on this.

At the time, Villa was not of a high standing at all in the league when we played them. When you play Charlton they were as established as Villa were in the league.

Now the difference between the 2 crowds was a matter of 100's not 1,000's. United's game was on the BBC at a midday game. The owls game was at 3pm and not on TV. So by yourselves getting a couple of hundred extra fans to watch a game THAT WASN'T on TV shows the owls will still "turn out". Dear oh dear, as my mate always says, can't educate a thick **** can you
