I do like that accommodation but was told that it was full.:(
Maybe it's not very polite, but do I have any chance to know anybody want to move out?

Hello
Victoria Halls is very nice isnt it?
I would go to their office and put your name on a shortlist. Many of the first year students who drop out of uni go back home, so you might have a chance.

Thank you!!!!
Is that real?? I can't believe it !!
I hope it won't be too~~~ long. Maybe next week sb won't want that hall anymore? is that possible?
Is that possible if they could contact me with email when there's a room available? BTW,I just can afford a single room...:P

Hi Hans,
Here are some steps I recommend you take.
1. Contact the Victoria Halls office and ask them to put you on the waiting list incase somebody decides not to take up their place at university, and they can then contact you. Do this quickly, I think the list get full very fast.
2. Do the same with Unite Student Accomodation across the road (its good aswell)
3. Put up notices in the students union etc. Some people want to get out of there (maybe they don't find the halls social enough for them?) so they may be willing to move if you take over their tenancy.
Hope this helps!

I misunderstood ur meaning last night...sorry...
I asked the reception of victoria hall twice yesterday and she told me no hope and didn't mention any list. But, I'll go there next week and maybe next next week and ask again and again and again because i really like that hall!
I hope if anybody who knows that someone wanna move out from that hall could give me that information at the first minute. Thank you!!!

Hi Hans
You have to go into the office and ask to be placed on the shortlist (unless its so full they have closed it)
That way if somebody drops the room, they can contact you.

Maybe it would take them a while to type out all the things wrong with Victoria Halls?
In my experience, it's nice and the en suite accommodation is lovely but I wouldn't recommend it if you're a postgrad. Well, actually, I probably wouldn't recommend going back into Halls full stop if you're a postgrad. All those crazy undergrads getting it at all hours of the night/morning and waking up people who have to be in work for 8am. Plus, having a house is much more independent- no paying extortionate amounts of money for the launderette or having to wait half an hour for people to come and remove their washing.
It's been a bad few weeks, compared to other student accomodation Victoria Hall is great. But just not for me.

Do you mean getting "in" or just getting "it"? Probably the same effect either way
Lol probably a bit of both.

I agree with you about the laundry and also when people come and open your tumble dryer when your clothes are still wet and then you have to put more money in to get it going again.
I stayed in a block with only postgrads and had no noise problems......
