What punishment do you think Southampton's David Prutton will get for pushing the referee?

I think he will be out for the season. 10 match ban.

I wonder what would have happened if he had got his hands on that linesmen.

They initially said up to 6 on the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/4303873.stm) website, but he has been charged twice now..

Doesn't look good..

I agree he should get a lenghty ban, but just out of interest what would you prefer, getting a bit of a shove, or being surrounded by 4 or 5 pepole screaming abuse at you?

The latter happens all the time and very often goes unpunished. Personally I'd prefer to get a bit of a shove.

They need to give him a lengthy punishment. It'll show that players shouldn't mess with referees.

How long did Di Canio get ?

I know the referee got a 6.3 for the dive at the end but Im sure Di Canio got a ban anyway..

I agree. The abuse shouldn't be tolerated either. IMO the referee should issue cards willy nilly for anyone who crowds them in such a manor.
