I had Maisie Mew spayed on Tuesday - the nurse said to keep her in for 3 or 4 days. The wound looks like its healing well so I was thinking of letting her out into the garden. The only thing is that at the bottom of the care sheet that came come with her after the op it said it was till possible for cats to get pregnant up to 49 days after the op - how can that be ... I assumed it was kind of like a hysterectomy? Does this mean I really should keep her in a little longer - I know there are entire toms that come into the garden:(

Cat spaying is a hysterectomy. The leaflet refers to an unspayed queen allowed contact with a newly neutered tom.

She can't get preggie, even assuming that she's mature enough to have been having seasons at her young age.

Give her a pat from me- who knows, maybe she will meet up with her sister one day in the gardens?
