It IS sad - but it's part of life, and I think it's good for kids to see us grieve over pets, and for them to join in the whole sad process of saying good bye to the loved ones. And maybe you all talk together about how sad it is right now, but how much pleasure and joy you and the deceased had from being in each other's lives....sniff.. *hug*
