Anyone received their new council tax bill yet?
I have enjoyed the payment holiday, but now comes the time for the new bill and I'm getting ready for my jaw to drop as I open the pages and see yet another increase in the monthly payments I must make.
Anyone got theirs yet and if so has it gone up?
It doesn't come until April does it ?
We start paying again in April, so I was hoping it would come in March so that I could budget for it.
I presume the direct debit will continue without me having to toss about re setting it up, but I can't remember from previous years.
Council tax is one of the annoying payments that although you know it needs paying and you know why, it just feels a bit like a con.

No bills will arrive until after Friday (4th Mar), as that's when the Budget Council sets the council tax level.
So we should expect them after this date then and hopefuly before April.
Any speculation on rise or fall?
Anyone have any inside information?:suspect:

Thanks:thumbsup:
If they do revalue the houses in Sheffield I'm screwed, my tax will almost double.

Was there 'heated debate' or is the annual rise accepted as a fact of life now?

The debate went on from about 2:30 to 6:30. You'll probably see the write-up in the Star tomorrow, but the press went home at about 3:45.
