I would like to have information on Hammonds tobacconist shops at the following addresses.
1901 to 1903 32, Sheffield Road, Tinsley.
1905 to 1913 40, Sheffield Road, Tinsley.
1913 250, Sheffield Road, Tinsley.
1915 320, Attercliffe Common.
I believe they may well have had a "Pie Shop".
The Hammonds family are my wifes side of the family so any other information will be greatly appreciated.

Pietro,
Thanks for the link to the photo. It looks as if that is the shop at 40, Sheffield Road. Does that road still exist?. We believe there may have been a cinema next to it or at least near it.
We think that the house numbers on Sheffield Rd changed about 1913. We think number 40 became number 250.
I suppose this will cost me money now to buy her a copy of the photo, still we are glad to find these things.
Moonraker, Sorry to hear I may be costing you some money.
Sheffield Road Tinsley still exists but I think the bit you are interested in, is now covered by Junction 34, M1 (Meadowhall), so nothing remains.
Regarding the cinema, I dont think there was one there (may be wrong) but there was quite a few along Attercliffe Common, a couple of miles away. Hope this helps.

Pietro,
Don't worry about the expense, I can buy the photo for her birthday present. That'll be a treat for her. LOL.
I've been looking at a map of the Bawtry Road / Sheffield Road area for 1923. On that map there is a "Picture Theatre" on Sheffield Road, approx 300 yards from the junction with Bawtry Road. The picture theatre was next to a club and backed onto Wharf Road. Is it possible that Tom Hammonds had his shop there.?
Would you also know if there was a "Cinema" near 320 Attercliffe Common in about 1915.?
Many thanks.
There was a Tinsley picture house in 1927 at 311 Sheffield Road and Tinsley W M Club next door this would aprox under the viaduct.

Hutch,
I think you are right. I've been doing some research today and found out there was a picture house called "The Palace Tinsley" on Sheffield Road. It was demolished to provide a wider approach road to the Tinsley South roundabout.
Poppins,
I think that building in the photo was near the picture house mentioned above.
