Just went to see the movie Jumper with Samuel L Jackson. Firstly can I just say What a waste of 90 mins!!! If you have seen the trailer for this film then you have seen the best parts of the film!!! There are so many plot holes in the story it looks like a sieve!! So if you don't know what the film is about, basically the lead character (I would say hero, but he never gained enought respect from me for that) can jump through space. So he can go anywhere in the world!! Samuel L Jackson is the bad guy!! (still dont know why?) hunting down the evil Jumpers!! He can't "Jump" It could have been a great film but somewhere along the line the writers must have given up!! Oh and then you get the kid from "Billy Elliott" as another "Jumper" who starts out being slightly mysterious and then teaming up with lead character and then fighting with him!!!! This film is just like a train wreck! You know its bad but you think it might get better!! The ending left me cold!! There is no soul or depth to this film, so you don't care what really happens. Instead of the good Vs evil finale you get Mr Jackson stranded in the Grand Canyon!! The ending is left like this possibly hoping for a sequel!! I won't be in line for that!! Has anyone else seen this film yet??

I thought it was decidedly average - not really tapping into the potential offered by the story. See http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=307107 for my review.

Yes you are right. The concept of the film really got me excited, but what a let down!! In the end I didnt care that they could Jump, I just wished it would end!! I think after seeing "Cloverfield" I had been slightly spoilt Going to see "The Bucket List" later on so lets hope that 2 old men can offer more excitement than someone in a Jumper!!!

Anyone reminded of a Sci-Fi Short story, maybe 15 yrs back about a similar plot? First "jump" brought on by some water-boarding type of torture. Bout all I remember.

Well the film was adapted from a novel written in 1992, so it isn't a new idea.

Wasn't impressed at all. Too teen movie... Jamie Bell's bumfluff is distracting and Hayden looks like Phillip Oliver from Brookie (Tinhead) in fact he might have been better in the role! He kept pulling all these faces like he wasn't taking the film seriously.
I think it was the human interest that was lacking in it. Although Liman's Bourne stuff hardly makes you care about Bourne, at least there are human moments. The ones in these were too young teenage boy trying to impress a girl by taking her places rather than showing what he is missing out on.
It goes to some amazing places as well so such a shame i didn't like it.
