South Yorkshire Police Authority and Police sent out Your Voice Counts surveys to people for them to give their opinions on crime and the police in their area.

Did anyone receive one and did anyone reply? The results are being published tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what the general public’s perceptions of crime and the police are.

You can watch the meeting webcast on Friday (15/2) morning from 10am at: southyorks.public-i.tv

Nor me. If I had I would had known, because I would have certainly filled it in. Perhaps they target certain areas, those that are more likely to give a more positive reply.

I haven't received one either. I think the police have filled them all in themselves :hihi:

These appear to be results from the last questionairre last year, for interest. They do seem to cover all of South Yorkshire

Sorry to disappoint you guys but I did get one and filled it in. I even got a response back to thank me for my time! Maybe it's because I had dealings with them a couple of years ago due to a violent relationship- but that's another story.

Rivelin6 is telling the truth, I filled in the survey and got a response. I doubt it will stun anyone that crime is down but perceptions of crime are up....

How strange that the only 2 people to respond with 'Got one' live within the wisewood / rivelin area...possibly the nicest working class area of sheffield...

Of course, Sheffield has a population of around 500,000, so the fact that 9 people haven't got one isn't that significant, in fact 9 is 0.0018% of the population who haven't, compared to 0.0004% who have - not really all that conclusive of anything!

Actually I don't, my area is definately not considered 'nice'. In the 18 months I've owned the house I experienced a whole manner (no pun) of crimes - theft from vehicle & from garden, burglary, criminal damage.... I have to say though, none of that has been in the last 6 months and I do see more bobbies.

I had one last year (Burngreave area) and also was invited to attend a forum, held at a place on Arundel Gate. I went but found the professionals were dismissive of the lay people, calling them Daily Mail readers and other slights if anyone dared to criticise. I told them I would not want to attend another forum.
