Hi.
Just thought I'd inform people that Bradfield Road in Hillsborough, as of yesterday, is closed for the forseeable future due to sewerage work which is being carried out there.
I predict it will cause a lot of traffic problems to be honest, especially on Saturdays when Wednesday are at home.
Thoughts anyone?

I noticed when coming toward Bradfield Road from Holme Lane a sign about it being closed this weekend (or every weekend, it wasn't clear). When I drove up yesterday half the road near the roundabout was dug up so I went around an back onto Penistone Road. Get the Hillsborough via the various link roads to Langsett.
My thoughts? 'Oh no, not again' springs to mind, having recently (last year or so) had to put up with Yorkshire Water's digging up of Herries Road, Fir Vale and Stannington Road, to name but three.
What are they doing that requires so much road destruction? I imagine that they're upgrading pipes or somesuch, but why? and why all in such a short space of time?

No choice for me I'm afraid, living near the roundabout.
Wasn't closed today  or Yesterday for that matter, I drove through there
Sewerage Work at Hillsborough? Is that the football ground?

It's only partialy closed you can still drive up or down. It's only ever one lane anyway towards Hillsborough due to parked cars so it dosn't seem to have made much difference.

I've just realised. It cant be the football ground. Sewerage Works go underground, and Wendy definately do not play witht he ball anywhere near the ground. Sore necks in order.
There's a lot of work going on at the top of Holme Lane (Malin Bridge) with some 6 foot + diameter holes being dug into the ground. Think the Bradfield road holes are the "other end" of it all.
As Hillsborough says, as there's usuall cars parked the whole way along there anyway, the roadworks don't seem to have made too much disruption (at times I've been along there anyway).
