what's happening with graves park cafe?

I'd heard that the millhouses cafe people were taking it over, but had got fed up with dealing with bureaucracies in the Council

any truth in this?

Used to call in sometimes and remember how it hadn't changed a bit since the early 60s when I was a kid and I played around there.

Money being wasted hands over fist, typical of sheff city council who couldn't run the proverbial in a brewery.

I went into the park 15 months ago and a notice said that the cafe would be open March 2004. Nearly March 2005 and still its closed. That cafe is a license to print money, especially in the Summertime and school holidays when the park is packed with visitors to the animal farm.

I would go as far as to say that it is mismanagement of council finances but hey whats new?

The cafe has been closed for ages and I'd heard it had been bought by the present owners of the Millhouses Park cafe. Millhouses park cafe now seems to cater for loads of people who park up on the road as near to the cafe as possible but who don't actually use the park as such. Regular park users saw the cafe change hands and the prices go up with a vengeance and so drove us away.
I used to complain to the council when in their stupidity they stopped dogs going into the cafe with their owners in the winter time. In the summer the cafe could be very busy but in the colder months it was taking a lot of it's money from dog owners. I couldn't take Max in and so I stopped going in this meant a loss in takings. The council told me they knew it was running at a loss in the winter but over the entire year it was making a profit. I think they were lying as they then sold it off.
