i have just installed wind xp but cannot hear sound, has not got any sound driver, can some help how can get one from internet, any link pls. cheers

its custom built, got it from the forum but don't know details of the seller, its an AMD athlon 1700, 1.46 GHz

You need to find out the manufacturer and model of main system board:

Belarc (http://www.belarc.com/index.html)

Hopefully Belarc will identify your mainboard without the need to go inside your computer.

Take the side off and get the motherboard model.it will be in big writing.when you have that google it for sound driver or put it on here.Assuming its built in sound which most are nowadays.
