View Full Version : Bought a new Polo, but keeping my old one after all, advice? Diesel 27-02-2005, 17:16 I just put a £200 deposit at the VW dealers, but then decided I wanted to keep my Mk4 it looks better and drives better!! Will I get my deposit back?? Anyone knows? Rich 27-02-2005, 17:24 I doubt you'll get your deposit back mate to be honest, not if it's just a case of you changing your mind about it, unless the dealer's the understanding sort. Kristian 27-02-2005, 17:24 Ask them nicely, and see what happens. If you don't get anywhere, do what I did in Hartwell's a few years ago; shout loudly that they are robbing ba***rds and approach customers entering the showroom, and encourage them to leave! Strangely, I got what I wanted VERY quickly! If you need any help, let me know :D K x Sam Miguel 27-02-2005, 17:29 Yes, if you kick a big enough fuss up, they'll yield. Personally I'd invent some tale about something going wrong like the washing machine packing in and you need the money for that as it is priority. Don't let them get your £200. Diesel 27-02-2005, 17:56 I lack confidence to shout the odds, thats my problem... We'll just have to see- i'll let you know! feargal 27-02-2005, 18:50 If you don't want to shout the odds, try whispering menacingly. That should do it. Sam Miguel 27-02-2005, 18:56 Brace yourself and do it. You'll feel better. feargal 27-02-2005, 19:00 Tell us when you are going in and we can all be milling around in cognito. Then when you kick off we can all nod sympathetically, tut, walk off in disgust muttering about poor service, etc. Diesel 27-02-2005, 19:28 Originally posted by feargal Tell us when you are going in and we can all be milling around in cognito. Diesel 28-02-2005, 06:38 This is the day... I need that £200 back!!!!!!! Wish me luck! feargal 28-02-2005, 07:03 If shouting or whispering don't work, try crying big wracking sobs (preferably with a runny nose). GO ON!! Diesel 28-02-2005, 12:23 got my money back! Kristian 28-02-2005, 16:30 Originally posted by Diesel got my money back! Well done matey! Did the nice approach work? K x Diesel 28-02-2005, 17:18 Yeah, there was no need shouting, although I did give them a sob story! Reidstar 28-02-2005, 17:36 That was hilarious Sam Miguel 28-02-2005, 18:10 Well done, Diesel. Just be careful next time. |
