There is a cafe in the garden centre, but it's very basic.

There is a restaurant next door that used to be a favourite of the "twin-set and pearls" brigade, but I can't remember what it's called.

You probably mean Morans which isn't actually in the garden centre, but it is at the southern end of that block of property.

To be pedantic, the garden centre on Abbeydale Road by Dore station is the Abbeydale Garden Centre and has a cafe which seems very popular, but I've not actually eaten there.

Then there's the Dore Moor nursery in Brickhouses, which doesn't serve food. Opposite the Dore Moor Inn, which does.

Great food and really good service. Why do other places find this combination so hard?

Menu looks good, thinking it could be perfect for my father-in-laws 60th birthday meal.

Thanks again

Do you know if the current menu has more options for veggies? The sample menu looks great as far as I'm concerned but a bit limited for Mrs T.

This is one of those posts which sounds all wrong, yet isn't.

I know exactly what you mean (if you know what I mean:hihi:).

I can't honestly remember but if you ring them I'm sure they will give a run down on what's available.

I have been here several times, and really enjoyed it everytime, anyway my sister in law is veggie, and she has always had a good meal and a variety of choice when she has been with us.

Sorry can't tell you what type of food though, as I don't pay much attention to what she orders, as I know it is something that I wouldn't order.

Oh and the set sunday lunch is good value for money, usually5-6 choices for each course.

Another satisified customer here. Worry that the place never seems to be as busy as it derserves, think location may be a factor as it is better than anything currently on Eccy Road.

Went there recently for the first time and can't argue with your judgement on either count. It's all a matter of taste but for us it hit the spot for food, service and atmosphere.

Used to be Carriages. Menu looks good and not too expensive - the wine looks a bit steep for what it is though. Will give it a try and report back - all in the name of research!
The garden centre cafe does some very nice cakes though!
