Does anybody know a good pub to watch the Carling Cup Final today?

A big screen (that isn't too fuzzy, and can be seen from most of the pub) would be a bonus ;)

Have all the pubs in Sheffield had Sky disconnected?

I know some have. That's why I need some advice :(

Why would they have been disconnected?

Anyway 'The Bulls Head' in Fulwood (which is my Brother's local) is a good pub for watching matches.

Okay, they stopped showing nearly every match. Perhaps it's because the football watching public in Sheffield are interested in non-premiership matches. We've been to a couple of places recently that no-longer show matches we've expected to be able to see, so we've missed the first half travelling to another pub or going home to listen on the radio :(

Thanks for the info, Ian

I know what you mean Strix, I usually go to the old Monk (although very busy) or the Fountain near the Hogs Head.

Usually have to pay £2-£3 though.

Failing that the Yorkshire Grey or Dove and Rainbow sometimes have footy on also.

I plan on being in town for about 14:15 just to find somewhere also.

Come on LIVERPOOOL FC!

I'll be watching in the Lescar Strix. There are a lot of Liverpool fans in that pub, and they always favour Liverpool matches over other matches on Sky, which keeps me happy.

No problem lol

Say hello to my brother if he's there (he more than likely will be)

Used to be mine when I lived up that way.. Wouldn't say its the best one for Sky Sports though, the screen isn't all that big :shakes:

Try The Office on Upperthorpe Road. behind Tesco's, they have a big sign outside saying they offer live footie on a big screen.

It's nothing to do with the football watchers.
Just ask the Landlord how much Sky TV charges pubs, then it might become clear. Robbers :suspect:

I know what you mean, Viking, but if the football attracts the punters it's worth paying for - as it doesn't attract them, it's as well to unplug the Sky :(

Took Brude to Padley Gorge and stopped at the Abbey in Woodseats on the way home. Packed to the eyeballs :D with a mixed crowd (for added atmosphere).

Thanks for all your suggestions. We'll try some of those out in future

Do any of them allow dogs? Brude enjoys watching the footy :) He thinks the object of the game is to play for the corner though :hihi:

(No comment on the result today  )
