Well i thought this was a good start to the series.

Enjoyed how they developed the character of Maxxie. Loved the dance sequence at the beginning.

Few ends not tied up but that will come out over the next few weeks i presume.

Think they did right to concentrate on Tony's character and I thought they did quite well with his frustration and showing how someone, who would not doubt have berated people in his situation before, felt.

They seem to be making the "adult" characters a bit less 2dimensional this series as well.

I thought last night's episode was very clever and very sombre. Great introduction to Maxxie's dad, and Maxxie developing.

Looking forward to seeing if Tony recovers, and if him and Michelle get back together. I :love: Tony so much! Thought the scene with him laughing at the dirty joke was great, showed his mental state perfectly! And his friends thinking Maxxie's Mum had been doing somethign to him was hilarious!

I hope Cassie comes back at some point too!

I was scared they were going to rape Maxxi in those bushes :( but it all turned out for the best.... Good episode can't wait to see more, hope there's lots of episodes this series :D

I enjoyed it, was great to see Bill Bailey play Maxxie's dad. Shane Richie is playing a college drama Teacher in the next episode. Comedian Mark Heap will be playing Chris' absentee father at some point too.

Had anyone been watching the 2 minute shorts on the E4 website titled 'the lost weeks'

Some are bloody awful acting (Effies and Michelle's, IMO) but as you get nearer the end there's some interesting stuff there.

I'm just as in love with Cassie as Sid is now, her episode from season 1 was the one that cemented the show as a good drama in my eyes.

I enjoyed the first series but watching that last episode made me wonder if I imagined it ever being good.

i like Skins, but i thought the first episode of the new series was a bit morbid, i prefered it when it was more upbeat and humerous.

I really liked the development of the characters in the first ep of s2. I think Maxxie could become quite a complicated character and I'm looking forward to seeing how he grows.

I also like the way that Tony is so dependant on the other characters this season, especially based on his characteristic features in the first series.

It'll be interesting to watch this season develop!!

I just watched the repeat on channel four and was extremely moved by the scene in the club where Sid was clawing at Tony's back and Tony just held him.

Poor thing, I just love Sid.

I finally watched it last night, and it was really sad :(

My only criticism with this series so far is that we're not seeing enough of the gorgeous Tony! Hope him and Michelle get back together!

I never saw the first series but I think this is some of the best British telly I've seen in a long time. I love Chris. The dance scene with Maxie was outstanding. Arabella Weir was great as Michelle's mum. I think I'm too old to be this excited about a tv show?

Not really, as all the characters who take them come across as vacuous, selfish, sex obsessed, losers. It's quite fun to watch, but I can't see why anyone would want to be like them.

im a bit of a newbie to skins but ive been watching the new series and really getting into it!

luckily, the whole of series 1 is on virgin 119 so i shall be spending my bank holiday weekend catching up with the back story coz whilst i think ive got the basics....i know im missing quite a lot of back story.

Cassie is scary this series, but last series she was really cute and sweet! hoping normal service resumes next week - i.e syd and cassie cute and funny, and tony and michelle back together.

this week's episode was very very very very very very weird! up till the last 5 minutes i thought it was awful, but luckily tony redeemed himself.

Yeah this week's was weird. Harry Enfield directed it.
Pertwee's character seemed very surreal, the girl that Tony got it on with didn't seem real as she kept just turning up everywhere, which led me to believe we were seeing into Tony's brain for a lot of the episode and some of the confusion... i wondered if it was all going to be a drug trip mixing with his (assumed) medication.
I felt a little dissatisfied with the ending - might watch it again tonight just in case i missed a bit!

Also i have to mention the titles.... they are weird like 'play for today' used to be like... or one of those programmes you'd watch at school for public information... Peter Purves would come on and say hello, today we are going to tell you all about the escalating problem of gonorrhea in Scunthorpe. .. :rolleyes:

I'm a bit confused, I didn't really watch series 1, and I definitely missed the last episode. I have now caught up on 4OD but am still a bit Lost, did it end with Tony being knocked over. It's just we never got to see what happened to him, properly?

And the song p***ed me off too. But apart from that, I love Skins!

I missed the first bit but saw the important bits,(sob!) then tried to watch the first part on e4+1 and then fell asleep so i'll have to watch again!

Yes I think she did, I think it scared her a little so she just ran. Which is then why she started feeling guilty at the end

I thought it was good - gutted Jal aborted , but then again if the condition Chris had was hereditory it was probably for the best.

Cried my eyes out at the funeral when she made her speech but couldn't help but laugh when Sid and Tony stole the coffin..did it not remind anyone else of "to me, to you!"
