View Full Version : Furious with Hipknits
knitbird 11-02-2008, 17:34 Just thought I'd have a rant here, my lovely boyfriend ordered me gift box from hipknits for Christmas, and I chose the yarn and colours on the 12th December last year.
Since then I've heard nothing from them at all, no confirmation that they've received my choices, no delivery date. I've emailed them three times this month to chase, and had nothing back, I've tried all the email addresses for the company that I can find and there's been nothing.
I'm really furious now, as I should be blocking something that I made with my Christmas present by now, not trying to get a response from a company.
I've emailed them again threatening to get a refund from paypal, let's see if they can be bothered to get back to me.
I've heard quite a few bad things about HipKnits and there lack of customer service. I know I have read some bad reviews on raverly. Kerry is on Raverly, have you tried pm'ing her on there?
Hope you get it sorted knitbird.
beansforyou 11-02-2008, 21:53 If you paid via Paypal, then don't bother contacting them anymore and start a Paypal claim straight away, that usually sorts the men from the boys.
Just claim item not recieved, then they have upto 21 days to prove they've delivered goods to you (they would require trackable proof to win).
Lucy-Lastic 11-02-2008, 23:10 Ooo thats not good is it. I had heard that their service could be a bit poor and was a bit worried when I ordered the silk for mums scarf but it came really quickly and answered me a few questions about washing and blocking really quickly too:( I wondered whats changed:( Definitely do a dispute with Paypal though.
I hope you get an apology and a swift resolution to this one, Knitbird. Oh, and a large box of yarn too, of course!

I try!:hihi:
knitbird 12-02-2008, 10:30 I've heard back from them finally, after sending a stinker of an email to them, apparently it's a problem with the courier, but I'm still cross that they've ignored 3 previous emails on the same subject. Kerrie has apologised, but I'll see how this goes. I just want my yarn!
knitbird 14-03-2008, 14:28 I got the refund today, finally, after threatening them with trading standards. They've not sent any apology, or explanation, but I now have some cash to splash in Sunday! Oddly enough I'm not buying from them again.
beansforyou 14-03-2008, 15:39 A few people on ravelry have been having issues too, not good is it :( at least you got a refund.
Apparently according to the blog it's due to local Post Office problems and I think she is now using another...it's no excuse for lack of communication and general sloppy service though.
Rebecca1812 25-05-2008, 11:48 Glad to see I'm not the only one, Hipknits service is still terrible despite paypal. Emails are ignored and I don't actually believe they ever sent my delivery. Trading standards is a nice touch and I will use that route aswell. I'm also thinking small claims court. The ammount is pathetic but it is essentially theft. Hope all other 'victims' have been successful with refunds.
