who had the black out not long ago for a few mins i was in the shower and thought my eletric had gone so when i went outside to phone someone i saw all the way near the water tower was total blackness, all th nebours were out with the candles,and offering candles to people who dident have em, a few mins off how it should be..lol

Black outs all over Gle**less Va**ey and Arbourthorne apparently , YEDL are aware but do not have an eta for a fix.

we're in Gleadless and the whole neighborhood has just gone out - our tower block and all blocks around, plus the maisonettes and street lights.............

mojo1 glows in the dark so we were ok!

yeah ours was out for exactly 15 minutes... weird to see my entire area pitch black.

we had just got the candles out

i knew my splurge in ikea would come in handy one day :)

Ours was out for a bit, my eldest was shouting his head off bless him.
Was rummaging round for a lighter to light some candles and burnt my bloody hand on it:(

It was the weirdest thing standing in my living room in the pitch black looking out across Gleadless Valley to Norton Lees and up to the water tower and Raeburn, and seeing absolutely nothing but black. Paddock Hill EPH had its emergency lights and they were the only thing I could see out front. My neighbour said he was driving back up towards Manor Top when it went, then he came along from the Town End to bottom of Gleadless hill and they were the only bits lit up.

Does anyone know what caused the blackout?

My brother and sister-in-law rang us on Saturday night just after 11pm or something, saying their lekky was off and was ours okay.

They live on Charnock, and we live on Lowedges. Apparently theirs came back on pretty quickly, but ours never went off.
