if anyone is involved with scouts especially explorers can they PM me please. I'm looking for a explorer unit to join because my scout group doesnt have one. hope that makes sense.

I am an Assistant Scoult Leader, but my troup is in Leicestershire, so I doubt I'll be able to help.

Have you tried looking up venture scouts. I once did a search as I was trying to find a mate I had lost contact with. He's one of the leaders and I found loads on the site for Sheffield.
I think it's run in North Sheffield or NE.

I think that there is a troop in Fulwood. No idea how to get in touch with them, but perhaps you could try the Scout Shop on Campo Lane in town 0114 272 4018? I would think that they will know all the different units around Sheffield, and what types they are.

msnutty, if you look on the uk scout website there are contact details avaliable per district. It should give you the information you require. I know this as I was considering helping out again in my local area..not made up my mind yet.

I will see if I can find the link.

Venture Scouts have been extinct for a while now...

No, but when I was a lad I knew a bloke who was. He kept trying to lend me this book - "Scouting For Boys" I think it was called.

Funny thing, his house burned down not long after that.... ;)

The Wadsley scout troop explorer scouts (which I think are the eldest now), I believe meet on a Friday night. If this is any good to you I can get a contact name and number on Wednesday night.
