My lo is 29 weeks and I breast feed and also has solids. my question is, (what I have been told) from 6 months they can have full fat milk in food. ie cereals/rusks etc. but they cant have it as a drink till 1 year old. BUT. does it count as a milk feed, or do they still have to have as much milk like sma?
if it doesnt count as a milk feed. there is no point is there.?
thanks.
I don't know to be honest. I still gave my DD the same amount of formula milk and gave her full fat milk on her weetabix in the morning when she was 6 months.

Ask your hv. They advise you not to use cows milk as a drink before 12 months because of allergies. You can reduce formula milk but most babies still have 2/3 bottles a day until 12 months.
My daughter is 15 months a loves her morning and night bottle even though it is cows milk.
I was told that i should use f/f cows milk in cereal by the dietitian at Jessops hospital (my little boy is 9mths), but when I went to the HV at my doctors she said I should still be useing formula. To be honest I'm sick of getting told different things all the time
But i have heard that you should count the milk that your baby has in their cereals towards their total amount of milk they should have in a day, which should be around 600ml....apparently
