All of the greedy so-and-sos will take you on if you grease their palms with enough cash! It's nothing short of a miracle if you get taken on as an NHS patient these days.

As a profession, dentists are motivated solely by greed, and put financial gain before the well-being of patients. Look how much they get paid if they work for the NHS: http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/details/Default.aspx?Id=604 It's up to a staggering £161,000pa. But that's not enough for them - they want more, and most dentists are so greedy that they won't even see an NHS patient in an emergency!!!

And to top it all, the Government lie through their teeth about free dental care for all.

Yeah I agree

How come doctors get such a pasting in the press at the moment but dentists get away with no aggro?

The GPs may be on £££ but at least you can find one on the NHS

Dentists
Grrrrr
Dont get me started

5 years of training paid for by the state then they immediately go private when most of the population cant find an NHS one

Its not right

I got taken on by Walkley Dental Practice on South Road as an NHS patient a few months ago, but I had to wait 4 months for my first appointment. I think that is their policy. Not sure if they are still taking people. If you go on the NHS website you used to be able to search for ones in your area taking on patients.

There are loads of dentists taking on patients in Sheffield, don't believe the rubbish in the newspapers! I think there's a database on NHS direct which will tell you your nearest surgery. :)

There is nothing "free" about NHS dental care. More people need to realize this and get really annoyed about the current situation.
Most of us pay a great deal of tax for a service which is simply not provided. If any private company took payment and didn't provide, they would be breaking the law.

Don't know what you mean about dentists. My dentist opens all week and Saturday morning whereas my doctors are open during the week except Thursday afternoon and no Saturdays. Nice work if you can get it
