View Full Version : How dirty is coronation street
roughy101 25-02-2005, 20:28 has anyone noticed how dirty most of the houses on coronation street are ,if you look at the paintwork and wallpaper in most of the street you can tell the sets are more than 40yrs old, perhaps we should put them all up for a 60min makeover.
Kristian 25-02-2005, 20:35 Sally Websters house especially! Uurgh, it makes me want to lie down! :gag:
Having said that, I can see that she's probably got no time to clean, what with sleeping with her boss (the one that puts me in mind of Sven Goran-Errikson with hair), and chasing Serphie and Rersie round endlessly!

alchresearch 26-02-2005, 17:55 The new houses on the other side of the street have a wall of green mould and moss beside the front doors!
Every time I pass I feel like sneaking onto the set (not hard as they leave the gates open!) and scrubbing it off!
Has anyone else noticed that Sally Websters house has recently been decorated, although it was not mentioned...it just occured over night!

That's because it was smoke damaged when the corner shop was fire-bombed recently. Try and keep up! :)
Kristian 27-02-2005, 00:39 Come off it! Tracey Barlow can disappear upstairs to 'play tapes', and re-emerge 3 years later with a different head, but you want it mentioned when they get the Dulux out?!?

No I understand it was because of the smoke damage, it is just they did not mention redecorating, at all! Just confused me, when you decorate you have to take time to pick the colours etc I suppose they had too much to deal with in that house, other than cleaning and decorating :)

I'm sure there's a rude joke to be had out of this, but I'm not going to be the one to go there. For once!

I actually noticed the green stuff while watching yesterday. You'd think they'd invest in a power washer!

A frien of mine went into NY city to see some soap operas taped, she couldn't belive how dusty the furniture was on the sets, looks so elegant on tv, also being a dress rehersal the actors put there scrips inside drawers and pretend there looking for something when they forget there lines.
Also she said the rooms seem further away than they realy are, quite interesting.
Last year I visited the Science Museum in Manchester that backs on to the Corrie set. The street, curtains and paintwork look absolutely filthy. You don't really notice this when watching on TV. If you go to the Museum have a look - the kids from school were more interested in that than the Museum itself!

After watching tonight's episode, nowhere seems as dirty as the floor in Martin's garage... :wow:
