View Full Version : 'Brownfield' sites in Sheffield Lib1 25-02-2005, 15:19 Does anyone know where the Sheffield 'brownfield' site that is mentioned in this article: http://society.guardian.co.uk/regeneration/story/0,7940,1420126,00.html is going to be? Lib1 Strix 25-02-2005, 15:30 Well reading this (http://society.guardian.co.uk/regeneration/story/0,7940,1419772,00.html) I would think that Orgreave slag heap falls into that category. It's called the Waverley Development (or something) NicoleM 25-02-2005, 15:59 The Waverley Development is a mixed use site so expect a lot more than just houses when it's developed. They may have some competition from the Catcliffe area but I think it will work. Dirtydog 25-02-2005, 16:06 There are a couple of possibilities of Brownfield re-development in Sheffield but I think Strix is correct with the Waverly site. Its a project that is expected to take around 30 years to complete, with mixed type housing, transport links, light specialised industry etc. Virtually the construction of another village between Sheffield, Treeton and Catcliffe.
