Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has ordered captain Steven Gerrard to stop playing down their European ambitions.

Gerrard has a price tag of around £30 million on him. Do you think Liverpool would be better to sell him and take the cash and rebuild?

I've seen Liverpool playing without Gerrard this season and I'm of the opinion that they have generally played better. When he is in the team they seem to rely on him too much.

Everton sold Rooney and never looked back. If Liverpool want to remain 4th best club in the Premiership and be the best team in Merseyside then they are going to need a massive boast from somewhere.

They won't have a choice the way they're going. I wouldn't stick around if I were him. He looks seriously ticked off with things every time I see him interviewed. With Liverpool players it's always what they don't say that tells you the most....

If Gerrard has ambition, he will leave Liverpool. They just don't have any chance of winning the Premiership. Rather than gain ground on Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U (who are now streets ahead in more ways than one), they've slipped to Newcastle's level where all they can realistically hope for is European qualification and a cup win.

I hope he stays, Liverpool are competetive even with as many serious injuries as they have had this season.

Answer, no should not sell him!!!
