Vera has been around for a long time Kristian, just not been active for a while owing to having other things to do, but the sentiment is good, and worth saying twice :D

She even had the good sense to get out of High Moor before they banned her from the Travellers :P

I once almost got arrested outside the Travellers, for shouting a warning to those still inside telling them "the Bobbies are here" and was promptly told the error of my ways by a burly Derbyshire Bobby, who then popped his head inside and told the landlord to "get em on their way". and then left, and all this upset at 1:30 in the morning ;)

I must of been one/two years above you, probably caught the same bus. 592?
I lived on Sheffield Road near the Nethergreen.

Are Alan and Mary still in The Bull & Badger?
I moved up there on the new estate just down from the Nags in 98 and got to know Alan when he owned the Nags before he moved the the Bull & Bellyache.

Do you remember the Hipkiss family and Mr and Mrs Haimes, Mostly from the Sheffield Road area near the Neathergreen.

They were the older end when I lived there and I used to go round to help with shopping and chores etc.
They were lovely people and were like my grandparents, used to get 20p for an ice cream, oh those were the days.

Mr. Tracy would sufforcate in his black cloak if he saw it now!
I'm a born and bred 'Marshian so if there's anything I can help you with I'd be more than happy to. You could perhaps fill in some gaps for me too?

Hi Vera
I have known Tony for quite a long time, although I haven't seen him for a good number of years.

I used to drink in that den of iniquity The Vine at Mosborough when Tony lived down Hollow Lane, Tony and another reprobate called Phil used to be big drinking partners, as well as would be golfers.

Dave who used to be the Landlord at the Vine sadly passed away a couple of years ago.

They say it's a small world Vera and by eck lass it sure is.:P

Hi Owdlad, Sure is a small world eh!. Wonder if it's small enough for you to remember the Moults at halfway They had the shop there at the traffic lights. Freda Pam and Colin, just wondered. Also a Mr. Healy used to have a van he used to sell clothes etc from it he used to come up High Moor too.
Regards Vera.

Hi again Vera
I can't remember the Moults or Mr Healy, in fact I can only remember Reaney's having a shop at Halfway well apart from the Halfway House that is, and the large brick house that Peat's the farmers owned which was stood next to a field in those days, not surrounded by houses and apart from Glover's mill was the last building before you got to Mosborough, unless you want to be pedantic and count the hut inside the sewerage (there's no wonder the grass grows up that side of the road)

Hi Owdlad,

Very interesting. Pam worked for Mrs. Peat many many years,
Pam lived in one of the little cottages adjacent to the shop,
All changed now hasn't it.
Vera.

Well I think you've got me, but then again there is a Lisa Marie Hurst and thats not me. I have got dark hair and occasionally still wear the gigs but I left in 1985-20yrs this year. Same year as Richard Todd, Claire Else, Alison Lowe(her dad had the crown).
