Try PlusNET (http://www.plus.net) they offer 1 Mb Broadband for £14.99 a month, it does however have a 1 Gig download cap, but they do an unlimited 1 Mb Broadband that doesn't limit how much you download for £29.99 a month.

PlusNET are also locally based here in Sheffield.

It's 2 meg now and you can get additional 1 gig at £1.75.

24hr customer service line at local call rate

Try search - there's a number of threads from the past couple of weeks, so the info will still be relevant

Been with them from the early days of dial up when they were just Force9, very few problems.

Try looking on www.adslguide.org where you can compare all ISP's. I use Nildram (now Pipex) at work and have switched to the PlusNet deal at home. Both have been utterly reliable.

Could accuse you of the same thing with all your recommendations. ;)

They should pay this site commission with the amount of business it puts their way.

Try Tiscali. They have 1MB Broadband for £15.99 a month and free weekend calls. This has 3GB download. On average people only use less than 1GB per month so its plenty.
Visit http:www.tiscali-network.com/earncash
to view offers and register on line.

They are in 4th place this month in terms of speed. Havent had many real issues with them

Customer service is fab !

AOL and worth a look in the same sentence?! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Seriously mate, AOL or AOhell as most of the current and former customers call them, are crap.. Their tech support people don't speak English and even if they did they'd be about as much use as snowmen in the Sahara Desert...

And no, I am not racist, I'm no BNP supporter, I hate all Politicians equally.

Have to agree with Rich about AOL. 3 of my friends couldn't wait for their contract to finish and move elsewhere!
Poor service was main complaint and no customer support.

I'm on Wanadoo as well, but only 512kbps cos we can't get 1 Mb being so far away from the local exchange at Wadsley Bridge :(

Thinking of changing to PlusNET when the 12 month commitment runs out later this year, they said I could get 1 Mb.

How much does that cost you then? Before I changed to Wanadoo Broadband I was on dial up anytime and that was £15 a month and it was really slow and a real rip off. But that was when all Broadbands were like £30 a month.

I love pipex. Been with them over two years, and I pay £23 a month for 1mb broadband, and unlimited bandwidth!

It's not been down once in two years!

If the distance between your home and the exchange is the issue, why would changing providers make any difference?
