Interesting debate currently going on regarding Barnsley (not Sheffield, but local ;)). Should the coucil use public funds and become a holder in the club? Or would the money (£2-3m) be better spent on other council services.

Bearing in mind that according to the league tables, Barnsley has some of the worst school results in the country it should get it's priorities right and spend council tax payers money in a more responsible manner.

Lets hope the people of Barnsley show their disapproval at the next election.

Also I wonder if the fact the previous owner was a councillor have any bearing on the current proposal ;)

When Barnsley were in the Premiership, did they help the council out?
