Why on earth would you need extra capacity anyway? How many GIGABYTES of emails do you really need to archive?!

Hotmails always busy and slow these days and I much prefer Yahoo mail.

Surely using outlook (or similar) would solve this problem?

Accessing Hotmail via Outlook uses the HTTP server so still hideously slow. SMTP access is for paying customers, that might be faster, but Yahoo mail offer this to free customers anyway. Hotmail sucks.

When we where on dial up, Mrs Draggletail found yahoo email to be LOTS slower than hotmail. Now we are on broadband, no problems (she says) :)

Get your own domain, with e-mail hosting. About £5 per year gets you 3 POP mail accounts with excellent storage, and easy to remember addresses.

As for Hotmail and their server problems, the amount of fake virus warning mailings that people send each other doesn't help with the overloading of the system either!

I found hotmail to be trash, didn't keep it long, you get inundated with lude spam mail. Fsmail or Yahoo are much better, never get rubbish with Fsmail, but some rubbish gets through with Yahoo, although you can direct it straight to trash. Better off sticking to Outlook though I think.

Outlook isn't an email provider, it's an email client - a piece of software that allows you to download emails from a server. That server could be Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, etc, or it could be the mail server of your ISP (which I suspect is what you mean).

I'm one of these sad types that pay for extra GIGABYTES - I pay £11.99 p.a for a better service - I also archive my pictures that people send me on there too.

I have a Yahoooooooo! Mail account as my day-day e-mail address; and besides, I can't use Shotmail as I cannot pick it up on my mobile...

What really annoyed me, was I mailed someone from my phonem and then they tell me they cannot access the message - so, I'll have to retype the message and resend it(!)

I also have a G-Mail address, and use that for MSN and spam.

Rather interestingly, when I tried (for a change once), to set-up my Yahoo! mail account in OE, it screwed up, and the whole system collapsed!

I don't know..!
