Hi currently have a friend who wants soem cd tracks converting from cda to mp3.She is at work and cannot convert them on the work computer. She is trying to mail them me so I can convert to mp3 and then mail them back to her. She does not seem to be able to make an attachment.
It is her own music.

Any ideas on a workaround?

Thanks for advice.

a .CDA file will be huge , far bigger then the email will allow. A typical .CDA file would be about 60mb in size and i'm guessing most email providers will not let you send more than 10mb per email.

I'd suggest zipping it to see if she can get it smaller but i recon it's not. Only way would be to send her some software or MSN it to you by the MSN buddy , as i've sent 700mb files via that.

Google free file hosting for sites where she can drop the file and e-mail a link to you.

One is: http://www.mediafire.com/

I have used: http://www.driveway.com/

Ahhh thanks guys I am used to thinking of mp3 and forgot the cda file will be massive.

For any of you interested in transferring large files then heres a utility calledPando which gets round the file limititaion restrictions of free e-mail accounts.

Thanks also for the free hosting service info.

.cda files aren't really CD files - they're kind of like a shortcut if you just drag them from the CD to a folder on your computer.

CD files have to be extracted using an audio ripping programme, and then you'll be looking at files sized around 10mb/minute for uncompressed and 1mb/minute for mp3 files.
