i have just got a wii but i dont know how to save games do i need a mem card ?

it does not show any save button and when i exit a game it says all date will be lost

I've never used my Wii without an SD card in the front, never had a problem so I guess you do need one.

Well I can save all my games with no problems without using a memory card.

If you want one, get yourself a 2gb SD card.

AFAIK the Wii system memory is reserved for VC downloads and stuff, it can't be used for save games so you do need an SD card for that.

ANd dont bother with 'official' memory cards either, they are over priced. Get you memory from Ebuyer. ;)

The Wii has internal storage for saving games - you don't need an external card. Red Steel has 3 save slots when you first start the game as far as I remember - I've not played it for a while.

You couldnt be more wrong. The wiis internal memory is used for both save games and VC downloads. In fact, some games wont let you save to an SD card, or copy your saves to one (guitar hero 3 being one of them).
