View Full Version : Queen will not attend Charles and Camilla's Wedding!
Kristian 23-02-2005, 13:16 I just saw a new article saying The Queen will not be attending Charles and Camilla's wedding?
How can she do that to her own child?
News story here. (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,12354334-2,00.html)

In Metro it said she wasn't going to the registry office but she was going to the blessing afterwards, and she has paid for the reception (I bet there won't be any cheese and pineapple on sticks).

Child ? he's an overgrown spoilt brat, would you go to his wedding ?
matsalleh 23-02-2005, 15:04 I am not going either. This has got to be the most disfunctional family in the country.I believe we are now seeing the beginning of the end of our monarchy.
I'd personally like to see the entire royal family moved onto a council estate and see how they cope with normal life, although I think the residents would have something to say about that. Can you imagine the Queen having to queue for her state pension in the post office and Charles waiting in line at the job centre? I can dream. :)
Soz it wasn't quite on topic but just wanted to put my thoughts across. ;)
Edit: Hows about a new reality programme. House-swap. A chav family and the royals swap for a couple of weeks.
Agreed that the Royals are the most dysfunctional family ever, even the Simpsons function better and they're only a cartoon family

LOL! How about Royal swap... Royal family with the Royale Family... What a laugh that would be... not that something so daft would happen :hihi: but hey ho we can imagine lol
The Queen actually said: " One is not attending ones sons wedding as one does not like ones son's girlfriend being on coronation street" (Audrey Roberts)
But dont you think that the head of the Church of England has some resposibility to promote church weddings, and not registry office ones!
i have no interest in the royal family they have degenerated into nothing more than a soap like eastenders
Sam Miguel 25-02-2005, 12:23 What a load of crap this is becoming. The Royal Family are just a complete joke.
If there is way of getting it wrong, don't worry - they'll find it.
Does the Queen honestly think that she will gain public approval by not attending the wedding?

I think it's a no-win situation for her.
She'll probably get less flack this way, but if I were her I would do what I wanted. I hope she has made her decision with this in mind!

it all sounds extremely petty tho, perhaps charles should abdicate for love and when the queen gives up his son can become king instead

I would like to see that; I think Wills would make a much better job of being King!

Don't be so sure: he'll go all strange like the rest of them if he gets the job. Mark my words. There's no hope.

Yodameister 25-02-2005, 13:01 I have some sympathy for the Royals in that the press would be looking for the smallest amount of scandal to blow out of all proportion, but, regardless of what they say not going to your son's wedding does somewhat indicate that you don't have the best of relationships.
I think the queen particularly and all of them in general are very out of touch with how the rest of us live (understandably so) and they are much more concerned with "good form" and "the done thing" than anyone else, and they are a long way behind the rest of us with what is acceptable.
Sam Miguel 25-02-2005, 13:10 The Queen has let us all down badly. I mean, she only seems to work part-time and never puts any overtime in in these days.
Brilliant isn't it? We pay her premium rate and she does sod all!
As we employ her, I feel we should take her through the disciplinary procedure for not pulling her weight.
