Whenever speed cameras are mentioned on the forum there's a huge respopnse and a lot of moralising goes on. Some people are pro, some anti. My own stance is that the cameras have their uses but the majority of them are used as revenue generators. People dispute this and say it is all about SAFETY. If SAFETY is priority number one, can someone explain why the Highways Agency is causing numerous deaths and accidents because they are failing to maintain the roads and motorways to the necessary standards. Not my opinion but the opinion of police and other other experts in the Radio 4 "File on 4" programme last night. Listen to it here -
