They're great quality for the money in my experience. If you're a beginner, it's likely that any unwanted noise could be a result of technique rather than a fault with the instrument.

Who did your set up? I'm surprised they haven't mentioned any problems with the instrument that are causing buzz. Try gently plucking each string in turn, both open and fretted, with your ear close to the fretboard to see if you can identify where the buzz is coming from i.e. which string(s), which frets.

You might also want to check for any loose screws, tuning pegs (particularly the screwed collars around the string posts), nut etc..

If it's fine when you play without a plectrum, it sounds like you're probably just being a bit heavy handed. That's completely normal if you've not been playing long, and you'll soon develop more control.

Another thing worth bearing in mind is that a certain degree of buzz can be normal, especially with a low "action" (the height of the strings from the fretboard). If you've just had it set up, there's every chance that your action is very low. What's important is that it's not audible through your amplifier.

Good luck with it.

If it's really getting to you try raising the action a tiny little bit, although this may knock your intonation out so try it at your own peril. I remember my early days when i cleaned my guitar and messed it all up, but me and my Dad sorted it out on our own and it taught me a lot. It's not "easy" but on the same hand it isn't rocket science either.
