Hello!

I am wondering what the quality of reception is like on T-Mobile in Sheffield. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks! :D

From what I've heard it's no better or worse than any other network in the city. I've known one person get rid of T-Mobile because the signal was awful and another person who says it's perfect.
Check with the supplier if they offer a 14-day "no quibble" guarantee or similar. That way if you find it's poor in your particular area/haunts then you can return it.

If you live in woodseats, T-mobile is crap. YOu have to hang out of my attic window to get a text message.

The best network for coverage in sheffield is Orange
Works great everywhere.

T-mobile works fine for me when I'm at Woodseats but obviously wouldn't know about your house :) To be honest Vodafone and T-mobile have both been fine for me all over the country apart from the odd black spot that have been very small.

O2 works in most areas as well, just a shame their payg tariff is a complete rip off, £10 top ups last me a week and half if that lately :(

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I have ordered a phone on T-Mobile (via Dial-a-phone), it has a 14 day money back period so I will see how it goes. I wanted to stay with Vodafone as I've never had problems with them, but they won't give me a free upgrade on the phone I want! Orange seems to be a bit dodgy reception-wise where I live (Meersbrook). T-Mobile had the best tariff with the phone I wanted so I will give it a go! :)

Not true! I was on orange for years and was forced to leave them as I couldn't get any reception in my house in Norton Lees/Meersbrook. I complained several times because when I upgraded they told me my area was ok. They finally admitted that it wasn't and they were installing a new mast. They never did install a new mast. So I ended up having to wait a year for my contract to finish and then move networks. Orange is the only company that won't put a mast on top of the water tower. Well for the sake of a small amount of money they are loosing a lot of customers in a large area. Stuff 'em! I'm on O2 now which works fine in my house. Funny that, coz Orange insisted it was my house that was the problem at first!!

Well I'm sure everyone's problems are due to the large amount of hills and valleys here in sheffield. And unless you'd lived everywhere then you will only have a limited experience of networks.

Does anybody have a G3 phone?
what is the reception like in sheffield???

unless you live on top of walkley hill! Then you get zero reception with orange a lot of the time.

Youd think the reception would be better high up, than in the city centre.
